Alford Forest Reserve Board

The Alford Forest Reserve Board, in collaboration with the Ashburton District Council, diligently oversees the Alford Forest Reserve on behalf of the local community.
Our beautiful reserve is maintained as a vital gathering place for residents and visitors alike.
The Board supports the day-to-day management and development, ensuring we retain a welcoming space for recreation, community activities, and local events.
We also care for the nearby Singletree Site, located approximately 800 metres east of the reserve.

Alford Forest community life

Alford Forest is a small settlement, surrounded by hill country and plains farmland. Around ... people live across the settlement and catchment area.

We come together for Mid-Winter and Christmas gatherings, and to honour our local servicemen and women at the Anzac Day dawn service.

We're hoping to bring the community together more often, with additional events in the planning stages.

The heart of Alford Forest

The Alford Forest Hall has long been a focal point for our community, hosting meetings, celebrations, and gatherings that weave the fabric of local life.
Since its establishment, and with improvements like the addition of kitchen and toilet facilities in 1982, the hall has continued its vital role as an important part of our local heritage and future.
